How to Prepare for this Year’s Career Fair
It is important that as students we prepare ourselves sufficiently for such an event. The companies attending usually attend many career fairs a year and we want to set a good example.
A couple of things to keep in mind
- Update your resume with your most recent information.
- Put your major, graduation date, and GPA on your resume.
- Know what companies you want to talk to.
- Have questions prepared to ask.
- Answer a lot of your questions yourself by viewing the Companies Attending database.
Some questions that you may want to ask
- Do you have Internship/co-ops available?
- What type of work would I be doing as a __?
- What is your companies compensation plan?
- How many employees do you have?
- Where are your offices and where would I be working?
Some things to think about before attending
- How much pay are you expecting?
- Are you willing to relocate?
- What technologies are you interested?
- What positions are you interested in?
